San Antonio’s own craft whiskey distillery, Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling is ready to unveil the results of a 7-year bourbon barrel experiment, and they’re inviting us to understand the process and taste the bourbon! They’ve aged the same white dog in small barrels and large barrels which take different times to mature and lend different characteristics to the aged bourbon. This experiment offers us an opportunity to understand and appreciate the differences. The discussion will turn to how the barrel changes the cocktail and how the cocktail changes the barrel, which cocktails lend themselves to aging, sell-ability and risk/benefit of selecting a cocktail to age for your bar..... lots of advice and recipes for both consumer and bar manager, and maybe a little myth-busting, too.
