SEMINAR: Understanding Tequila

Saturday, October 21, 10:30-11:30am

$50

John Garrett, Victory Wine Group

If all tequilas are made from the Blue Weber plant, then why do they all taste so different? Walking through the aspects of why and discussing the history of production will help us understand taste. From the Rancheros where the Jimadors harvest, to the distilleries where production takes place, this will be an in-depth tasting of tequilas from the Highlands of Jalisco down to the Valley. You’ll enjoy flights of Blanco tequilas - the purest form - and understand what makes each special and different.

John Garrett's journey in the wine world began over a decade ago after researching a case of wine lef t to him by his grandfather after his passing. This case of wine opened a world that would lead him to seek out interesting and compelling winesand spirits. Today he focuses as much as possible on fortified and aromatized wines, as well as terroir driven spirits.
